Mass Defection Boosts APC in Osogbo as Ajisope Welcomes PDAccord Members

Alhaji Abdukhabir Ajisope, founder of the Ajisope Development Initiative, recorded a significant political gain on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Ward 14, Obate, in Osogbo Local Government Area, as he received a large number of defectors from the PDAccord party into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The event was witnessed by prominent party stalwarts, including Hon. Onibonokuta, who doubles as the Local Government Chairman and APC Party Chairman in Osogbo Local Government; former Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Adegboye Akintunde; and the APC Senatorial Leader, Hon. Adelakun, among other dignitaries.

Alhaji Ajisope arrived at the venue alongside key political figures such as the aspirant for the House of Representatives in Osogbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Prince Durojaye Afees (PDA); Hon. Akin Adeyi;  Hon. Omoyele from Ede among others.

In his remarks, Ajisope commended the defectors for what he described as their courage in leaving what he termed an unprogressive platform to join the APC. He assured them that the party would not disappoint them.

Also speaking at the event, Hon. Onibonokuta assured the new members of fair and equal treatment within the party, emphasizing unity and inclusiveness.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Hon. Abdufatai Owolabi, popularly known as “Actor,” expressed regret over their previous affiliation with the PDAccord party. He stated that their decision to defect was well thought out and pledged their commitment to work diligently for the APC’s success in future elections.

The defection is widely seen as a strategic boost for the APC in Osogbo, strengthening its grassroots support ahead of upcoming political contests.
